I would say overall, ANC domicle is the most junior. Obviously; since most don't want the a$$ pain of getting there and back. It's great if one lives there. Most can get to Europe quicker than they can get to ANC.
And the A300 is generally the Junior Base top to bottom lower 48. One, the Airplane blows, and two the trips are bad. Unless one is really senior. Then one can hold the old DC-8 style trips. Very Nice pairings. #300 seniority or higher.

If you like going coast to coast AND sitting the sort every night the 757 Domestic is for you. Me, I like the slow Bus. Yes, it is an older design than the 757 (by a year) but it flies just fine, it's quiet compared to the 757, AND I don't have jumpseaters drooling on me from the lifeguard stand! Tonight I do CAE SDF DTW, tomorrow night is the tough night, DTW SDF LIT SHV. Nice short legs, I've done the BUF/ELP trip, pays the same, flies almost twice as much. Why go coast to coast when you can fly nice short legs and take a nap in the sort.

ANC things to keep in mind:
1. We will probably have a income tax of 3% in 2019.
2. PFD payout is now limited to $1200 Max
3. Prop tax on a $400K home is $5800
4. Everything cost way more
5. Be prepared to pay earthquake insurance unless your a risk taker on your home
6. Commute sucks and will really suck with 150 more crewmembers in the next few years.
7. School funding is getting wacked. Good schools now but things are changing quick you can see it.
8. 74 flying is not as good as it was 2 years ago.
9. Crash pads are hard to come buy and cost $$$

The 74 flying is the best flying in the system. And going to get much better. HNL, SYD, CGN-SDF, etc.
The property tax in DFW or FL. is 14K for a $400 house. 20K if one steps up to 900K house. Southlake, Jupiter, i.e. So ANC isn't that bad. Just a pain to get to for a trip.

Overheard a manager who's part of the -8 implantation team that SYD plans for the 747 are now on hold for at least 3 years. We've all seen the power point presentation where SYD is a 747 destination but according to him they decided it wouldn't be financially feasible. Once the load factors improve they'll look at it again but it won't be for several years. Of course, his lips were moving so who knows?
As far as Alaska income tax - every proposal I've seen so far was higher than 3% so IF it happens I hope it'll be that "low".

With all of the new hiring UPS is doing I am surprised at how quiet these boards are.
The class drop for the April 10th class was accurately "leaked" on these boards prior to the class beginning. I'm curious if anyone has/will have similar intel on the May classes.

That's totally a personal opinion. I'm very happy I came here. I've flown with and jump seated with many 25+ year employees who are proud of what they built here. And I'm receiving the benefits of their hard work, for that I'm grateful. If your environment is toxic... what are you doing to change it?
Say what you want... I'm proud to put on those cheap poly brown pants and fly a brown tail.
