However, I humbly disagree.
Our airline might be bragging about logistics but apparently there’s no ‘logic’ in ‘logistics’.
You have to remember that some of our poolies don’t have any references here, they have no one to check up on them. So what should they do? Just sit around and hope for the best?
I know of 2 junior 75 FOs who’ve been accumulating seniority for a couple of years now because their sponsors went by the HR to check on their pool status. If you think files don’t ever get ‘lost’ here - think again. Had they just kept wading in that puddle of ours they quite possibly would still be in it.
I realize those are rare circumstances but yes, it happens.
So, if someone has been swimming for a while (~6 months+) my personal recommendation is for their sponsor(s) to check up on them with the HR, maybe even drop by? If they don’t know anyone here, I suggest contacting the recruiting team in person and a job fair is one such opportunity.
I’m frequently wrong but that’s my take on the pool. YMMV

When you’re in the pool, especially if it’s long term, you’ll do anything to get pulled out. But you’re hamstringed with the clear message.....do NOT call. That leaves internal recs. I didn’t have any.
Back then there were no job fairs. If I were in the pool today, and nothing else was coming along, I’d be proactive to get pulled out with today’s opportunity of face to face job fairs.
Today, all the doors are open. EVERYONE is hiring. Hopefully that will minimize an applicants time in the UPS pool. If not employment at UPS then somewhere else. Keep chugging and don’t give up. It will happen to those that keep at it. To include showing the desire to gain employment by having to put forth any more effort on an interview that you’ve already passed. Which I completely understand is salt in the wound. I’ve got a lot of rubbed in salted wounds from those years and I never forgot just how hard it is to get hired anywhere....regardless of how much hiring there is in the industry.
You can’t leave any stone unturned in this journey to a top tier airline.
Good luck and keep going.

Interviews are continuing - Someone mentioned they have a bud with a late OCT date.
747 deliveries continue (and a few 767s, no?), with a slight uptick in mandatory retirements will keep the hiring through 2019. Bottleneck is in the training dept.
Visiting HR - same person above said they went down to chat with HR at the training center in SDF. Apparently HR has moved the office towards the back (hallway just before emergency slide demo hall), they keep their door locked with a sign that says “don’t knock, if questions email us at X address.”
If no one else does, I’ll start a 2019 thread sometime next month. Seems a little early to do right now.
Best of luck.
