Adam does a good UPS specific. I was working with another company and wasn’t able to get him scheduled before my interview (for additional, specific prep) but he did send some helpful stuff over free of charge, so I though that was cool. I used emerald coast as they do a great all round prep that works for every company with specific focus given for whatever company you are interviewing for. I’ve heard good reports from Cage consulting as well. Albie, the owner of Emerald coast, made some unfortunate remarks on one of these these threads a while back and I stopped recommending him for a time but that’s unfair to the rest of the team and their product which I feel is really, really good, so I’d say head over there and then try to work with Adam if he can get you in.
As to whether or not one can rationalize frugality in not hiring a consultant - I suppose if you are diligent, self disciplined enough, motivated enough, and get some good gouge, you could put yourself through a self made training program. Or, for a few bucks you can get professionally trained (numerous exercises and techniques, mock interview with critiques, some tips and tricks) and be confident that your interview skills will get you the job.

My ebook has been updated with the latest info on the hiring process at Big Brown: How to Ace Your UPS Pilot Interview. It's on Amazon.
I recommend Judy Tarver (judy at pilotcounseling dot com) for the sit-down interview prep. She hired over 7,500 pilots at American back in the 80s and 90s. James Onieal at Raven Career Development is also excellent; very thorough.

He is tough to get ahold of initially, but once you have something set up with him he keeps a tight schedule.

I wouldn’t bother with anyone else.
Here’s a list of potential HR questions I’ve gathered from talking with people.
Background, application, resume and logbook questions
TMAATW you made a mistake.
What are the qualities of a good/great pilot/Captain?
TMAATW you felt a coworker could have handled a situation better.
TMAATW had to make an unpopular decision?
TMAATW broke or deviated from a company procedure?
Tell us about your last crew briefing and how you think it could have been better or what would
you do differently.
Is it ever okay to go below minimums?
TMAATW you did not agree with company policy and procedure.
TMAATW you had to use automation or discontinue automation.
TMAATW you worked together as a team
TMAATW you learned a lesson from another person important.
Why UPS?
Why should UPS hire you?
Why leave your current job?
What is your leadership style?
What are 3 or your weaknesses/strengths?
What would your former/current employers/coworkers say about you?
TMAATW you worked with someone you disliked.
TMAATW you had a conflict with a coworker/supervisor/subordinate.
TMAATW you had an unresolved conflict.
Tell me about a time when you had to apologize to a co-worker.
Tell me about a time when you had difficulty building rapport with a coworker.
Tell me about a time when you had to take a leadership role unexpectedly.
Tell me about a time when you had to resolve a problem with the help of others.
Tell me about an unusual situation you had in the cockpit.
Tell me about a time when you had to intervene in a conflict between two other people.
How would describe yourself? How would others describe you?
Have you ever had in flight emergency and how did you handle it?
How did you prepare for this interview?
What one special quality would you bring to the table if hired?
TMAAT when you had to operate under a rule, guidance or SOP that you didn’t agree with.
TMAAT when you had an idea or problem to solve and you had convince/persuade others to
follow you.
TMAAT you were distracted at work and how did it affect those you were working with.
TMAAT when you had to offer constructive criticism to a co-worker.
TMAAT when someone declined your advice.
TMAAT when something you said or did negatively affected a coworker/passenger.
TMAATW someone tried to pressure you into doing something you were uncomfortable doing.
TMAATW you failed to achieve a goal/objective?
TMAATW you feel you failed as leader.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
What is the difference between UPS and FedEx?
Why cargo operations and not passengers?
Where else have you applied?
Where else have you interviewed?
How do you stay healthy?
What do you think will be the most difficult part of training?
Do you have any family that works for UPS?
TMAATW when you used creative thinking to help save your company or employer money.
Tell me about your biggest pet peeve.
TMAATW you go frustrated or angry.
What is your definition of CRM?
TMAATW CRM broke down.
How would you feel about being based out of Alaska?
What work policy do you think is unfair?
What concerns do you have about working for UPS?
