Loaded question, but what's the general difference in flying/lifestyle between those two?

The sloBus is for kids who rode the short bus to school. The MD is for those who went home with the prom queen.

Right now the MD is still flirting with some intl schedules while the domestic rosters continue as planned. As an outsider I would say the MD domestic schedules aren’t as bad as what the true narrow body domestic fleets have to endure - it is a more senior airframe.

Oversimplified generalization:

74 = long haul international
z = Europe and Asia hub sort flying
75D & bus = true domestic
MD = somewhat domestic with lingering international long haul

Great explanation (as usual), thanks.

ONT is domestic only. They lost their international flying last year. SDFZ and MIA are the only 75/76 international flying.

Yes, Z is really SDF-Z which is a SDF crew domicile for international qualified pilots on 75/76. There is a bunch of domestic flying in the Z bid package and is the reason the seniority to hold the Z has dropped recently.
