I've heard people getting their offer the day before class starts.

As poor as our hiring department is, definitely call someone to find the answer you are looking for.

That's awesome man. Ten years?!? That seems crazy to me, but I'm not experienced which in commercial aviation to know normal from crazy. One day when I grow up I'm gonna be just like you.

Haha I think you need to aim higher.. It shouldn’t have taken 10years. But hey I’m where I want to be now and it’s a great feeling to be somewhere you have ALWAYS wanted to be.

So…how are you supposed to give a two weeks notice?

I didn't. Previous employer was very understanding as I'd given them a sort-of unofficial heads up, and we parted on good terms. I still lost all of my vacation, though.

Two weeks notice is only a courtesy, especially if you’re leaving for your forever-job.

Most employers wouldn’t give you two weeks notice if they were going to terminate you, so people shouldn’t feel bad if you need less than two weeks. I was the CP and I couldn’t give two weeks. It’s nothing personal, just business.
