Couldn't agree more, but it's worth the effort I'm sure. Thanks for the response!

I jumped and took this part 91 job earlier this year, because I thought it would be awesome the way it was advertised. We basically started the flight department for the company. Anyways, long story short, the job has become everything except what was advertised. So, I either may go back to Kalitta or have thought about ways to pursue my dream job (UPS). I have over 1,000 hours of 121 time obviously (4,000TT), but only a few hundred of TPIC. So I need to check that box. Should I find another corporate job to do it or go with a direct entry captain spot at a regional for a year or so?

I know quite a bit of some fellow previous K4 pilots that went over to the brown side and are loving it. Thanks for taking the time to read this!
you need to go play the DEC game at SkyWest and get your PIC. Sucks but that's the fastest way out there most likely.

Yeah I've been thinking about doing that with Endeavor. I was there once. I live in Cincinnati which is one of their junior bases so I thought about just going there, getting the sign-on bonus for DEC, saving that to help for the first year with UPS if I was lucky enough to get onboard, and doing this while being able to drive to the aircraft at 9E. My only concern is I don't want to be "stuck" there, but I don't think the hiring wave will be done in a year so I don't think I'd be completely stuck. It's just my only fear with doing that. It might be the best route to take though. I've heard it's a bit of a sinking ship over there right now, but I could do it for a year and check that box and then try hard for UPS after that.

With the amount of hiring going on at UPS and the other majors, I doubt you'd get "stuck".

Driving to work ain't a bad way to be junior.

Just a few years ago Endeavor was THE place to be, funny how the turntables

No kidding!! It really is crazy how they've turned. Supposedly they will be getting a good raise, but from what I hear attrition has killed them along with the pay increase from their fellow neighbors at AA. I'd love to drive to Louisville compared to commuting to any other major. I've done the single pilot freight thing, on-demand freight, flying freight in a heavy, and flying pax for endeavor .. and I know what I want so I just need to find a way to get that extra box checked and push hard to see how I can get onboard. You know .. f.*.*.* around and find out .. well .. I've found out! LOL

Minimum of 1,000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) hours in fixed-wing jet and/or fixed-wing multi-engine turboprop per 14 CFR 1.1

So relief pilot time counts?

Only time where you signed for the airplane. Do not think relief time counts.
