Getting up to go pee whenever you want without having to deal with locked doors and flight attendants and galley carts can't be understated.

DL seems like the hot GF now. But five years from now will Father Time catch up. During COVID UPS & FEDEX seemed like the safe place to Land. Cargo isn’t exactly recession proof either. There have been DL pilot leaving for UPS currently on the seniority list. Haven’t heard so much the opposite. Of course everyone has different circumstances whether it’s financial, family or professional. Those upgrades times are definitely enticing. Although starting over and giving up a pension makes for a healthy debate.

We brew our own coffee, usually using an aeropress. Some of us bring frothers. The diehards bring grinders and fresh beans. That airplane, potable water, battery acid Java the FAs serve is crap. Sorry, cargo wins that battle every day of the week.

Real freight dawgs drink coffee flavored, bilge water from the bowels of old freighters. It offsets the side effects of back side of the clock flying.

After flying PAX for nearly 20 years. Yes. It is. To get up and go in the back whenever you want is a huge perk of the job. I'll get up every 45 minutes in cruise to just stretch and get the blood flowing. I wouldn't take 500 an hour to be locked in a 737 cockpit flying in an out of ATL and JFK all day.

When I was flying in Qatar our cabin crew would make us a cappuccino. Although I like brewed coffee. Not a fan of tequila shot/type of coffee. Zero flavor. I’ll take Cuban Coffee over espresso. But I do miss getting a hot/cold towel before departure/tod and having my meal served with cutlery and glassware.

never wash your travel mug and make coffee so thick you need a fork to eat it.

They would probably never spill it on you and it wouldn’t be a good look if they did unless you were in cruise clothes which ensures I will never hold back with the feed bag, beverage and being comfortable. Nothing beats comfortable. If you drink a lot of water like many should, that door to the dog house is a leash. Your collar is the uniform.
