Still can’t figure out why we (IPA) didn’t have a clause in our extension stating we will begin negotiations immediately after the teamsters signed their deal. Instead we will wait over a year after until our negotiations begin……why wait?

agree, but the IPA said UPS needed the extra time to settle all the legalities of the teamsters new contract language.

It’s just an extension of the current contract, does not mean we can’t start negotiating tomorrow if both sides choose. I don’t believe they will start until next fall, but you never know.

Management gambled that inflation would not be transitory and won. Now, they have no incentive to rush. I’m guessing they will string us along until the Teamsters are due again and then tell us we have to wait.
