UPS 2024 Hiring Info.

From internal forums (MIA thread): some manager pilots have be quoted as saying possible realignment bid after peak and no hiring first part of 2024 but possibly later part of year to cover for peak. YMMV

I think I and others have said this repeatedly. It's obvious this will happen right after peak. Mostly, if not all will be off the MD. They are fat on the MD and will be parking more (PW) in 2024. Move bodies to 747 and 767.

I have a sneaking suspicion that we may be surprised how they manage the MD retirement. The bodies may not move elsewhere quite as fast as many expect. All that said, I’m just conjecturing and definitely have no unique insights.

That being said, the junior CPT award is generally around 60-65% overall seniority and Feb 2020 hires are about 72% overall seniority so I'd guesstimate mid-2026 (give or take a year) for first available upgrade opportunity.
This prognostication is worth exactly what you paid for it, caveat emptor, semper gumby.

Looking back to when Contract 2016 was ratified, the plug is (generally) in the 60-65% range upon award. As an example, the CPT plug for 23-101 was 58% overall seniority, 21-103 was 62%, 19-102 (which established SDF 747 and created extraordinary movement) was 72%. Of course that was during a significant growth phase for the airline and demographics have changed, so we'll see what the future happens to hold.
