you get rest in those 48 hours. The schedule likely had something like nrt-atl rest atl-sdf. But you could deviate and go straight to DFW or wherever you live and save a lot of time. Now you get nrt-anc rest anc-sdf on an ups 74 and you find yourself in sdf and have to get home. Senior people wouldn’t have bid that line if they knew the line was commuting on a brown tail.

I’m not big on the idea of commuting so hopefully I can get picked up, even with the hiring slow down. I wish I was year group earlier so I could have got out this year and capitalized on the uptick in hiring due to the postal contract. Now the looming tariff landscape question will cause things to swing hard the other way, if I had to guess.

Oh well, timing is everything.

Don’t eat your chickens before they’ve hatched! My crystal ball has a crack in it, but the Magic 8 ball says your odds are good. Between living in Louisville and your relatively short time horizon until age 60 (makes the pension more attractive) UPS would probably be a very good fit for you. UPS definitely likes to hire retired military.
