As far as negotiating leverage, my guess is not much will change. The Airbus fleet can’t fly more due to lack of timely support from Pratt, the 75 domestic seems to already be maxed out, I guess Z can do more Zmestic.
FDX flying a MD-11 (assumed FCF) today & rumor is revenue flights next week. The “emergency” is over. Time to get the contractors off our ramps.

Nope. The premise is that UPS is understaffed and under equipped to operate the schedule it has planned. They need to invest properly in this airline. If they need time to get there, I’ll be willing to help them out just as soon as I see an industry leading contract.

I've sometimes wondered whether UPS can actually afford to have an airline, because many of the decisions they make suggest they can't.

The reality is they can't afford not to.

The real question is whether they'll realize that before the cost of neglect exceeds the cost of investment.

Current executive team is 100% cost cutting right NOW. That requires you do absolutely no forward looking into potential down line impact. By the time the chickens come home as they say, the current CEO will be enjoying her retirement without a single thought or care for our world.

This is 100% the truth. Capital reinvestment & the next pilot contract are going to be the next CEO’s problem. Carol is going to maximize her separation package to the best of her ability & will be on a yacht sipping very expensive tequila without a care in the world while the next guy tries to figure out how to unfack this place.

it’s been flying for us since peak, including SDF-ONT-SDF for awhile. We should absolutely be flying 777s.
