Oh I forgot to mention, you giving guys S hit for helping the company and picking up JA while your name appeared 6 times on the JA list not JA 2, great leadership sport! Being fired almost, this is news to me!

That is immaterial to an announcement to hire "nearly" 300 more pilots next year, which is more than were hired in 2005 or 2007 and hiring driven in part by both "growth" and "new contract changes".

On a percentage basis, UPS hiring 300 pilots is akin to Delta hiring 1400.

This is a good thing!

The economy will have tanked by the time the 14th plane shows up.

Who is feeling lucky about being one of the new 300 that UPS surely will use as the new punching bag to relieve the previous 300?

He's on the bar and grill trashing on those FedEx planes and how weak their union is yet he uses FedEx exclusively to get to work.

What a f------g worm!

This guy sounds like a bunch we have over at Atlas. Wish they would all go to Delta!

Agreed! The hypocrisy of this whole thing has left a bad taste in my mouth to be honest with you. The fact that the so called experts said we have no more leverage, that we were done, that this deal is the best we can do....

The fact is, today, there is 400 cans sitting idle in HKG that don't have airplanes or crews to move them, potential 10.4 billion dollar airplane deal, new 500 million Atlanta sort center, admitted 300 pilot shortage..... Thats a whole lot of leverage, last time I checked, but we folded like a cheap suit. We could have made 100% of membership whole, wrote our own rates, and fixed all these issues we championed for the last ten years cause even UPS isn't dumb enough to turn their back on all this!

Don't listen to me, guys flying the line are *****ing already and some have buyers remorse, its going to be a long ten years until we have another crack at it, meanwhile Atlanta is laughing all the way to the bank. Next time we should spend less time being enamored with the pedigree of the so called experts but rather listen to the objections and read the whole contract carefully not just pay and benefits.

Shaggy,
Perhaps UPS decided to hire 300 more pilots and are buying 14 747's because the contract negociations are behind us and they can plan for the future with a stable workforce..chicken before the egg kind of thing...I could be wrong, but I think they are somehow related

Don't forget about the mechanics strike vote! I'm going to quote a classmate of mine who I respect that posted on the B!tch & Gripe " After 9 years, I just want to get out of the bottom 10%." Amen Brother.
