Whalesurfer: I think we are trenched in here for better or worse on this subject. It's not a bad education for new hires. People with strong opinions as new hires can get behind the 8 ball when they are good guys in actuality. There can be a definit cause and effect.

Folks, here's the deal. Everything you say, all of you, IS IMPORTANT! ..and all of you have valid points.
However, there was a time when I was looking for a job, desperately may I add. This message board proved to be invaluable to me as I didn't know anyone here at the time.
So if someone wants to learn about specific aspects of our company they'll use thread titles, like I did and many others who were looking for specific information.
One of you needs to start and other will follow. Please..

I remember everything about the PVG encounter, cause I was competitive at a Go kart track they wanted me fired? You told me to tone it down and I did, but being fired! Hearing and all other stuff is horse $ hit. I have had a few dealings with Pro Standards on one other occasion recently, but thats cause I don't take $ hit from anyone including you! Since when is the company afraid to terminate a probationary crew member? Deflect deflect deflect! So lets now get back to your JA pick up and answering my questions instead of deflecting the truth as so conveniently you tend to do! How about that sport?
I started the labeling? I think you said something about the menopausal something or rather, you started it but you have a way of deflecting things and only seeing what you want to see!

And here in a nutshell is why this industry has gone down the tubes! The "new" generation, children of entitlement! The world owes you something does it? Here another crew member goes out of his way to try and help you out, give you some "fatherly" advise and you kick him in the ass. I am so glad to be out of this now.

Fellas,
Take a breath and push away from the damn keyboard.
Leave this thread - right here - to the poolies and wannabees and take the personality conflicts elsewhere...shall we?

He not saying anything a good number of Purple guys would disagree with - spend a little time reading on the FedEx forum. How much visceral hatred he has for the liberals is spewed unchecked all over the B&G and is something you could criticize him for. And maybe something potential newhires should be aware of IF they understand that all this family feuding doesn't really exist outside the internet. They were probably sitting next to each other at the beach somewhere for all of this.

Perspective from a relatively new guy (2014 hire): I had a couple legs with sideshow about a year ago. I had seen his posts on the B&G and was dreading it. The reality was, while we may not have seen eye to eye on politics, it was readily apparent that he had a ton of good advice on union dealings, negotiations, and the profession as a whole. Point being that if he pulled me aside for a heart to heart, I'd listen. I don't know Shaggy personally, but we share acquaintances from military life. Their assessment is similar to what we've seen here: good dude but needs to come down a notch or five to avoid premature heart failure. My take for potential new hires: take the job if offered. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. There is certainly plenty of room for improvement. Am I thinking of jumping ship to Delta/American/United? Hell no. This is a good job with good benefits and excellent people to work with; Sideshow and Shaggy included.

I never said I didn't take those two JAs, so honesty isn't an issue...with me at least. Now...let's test your honesty.
Since you keep saying you weren't aware of how close you came to the abyss years ago, I'll shine the light of reality on it...at your request I might add.
Rewind to almost a decade ago on a PVG layover, where we and other crews ended up at the go cart track...well, the bar with a go cart track. You got very, very competitive and belligerent...over a go cart race to the point where several others became concerned, and ****ed. Another captain there approached me who was in the IPA "newhire mentor" program, of which I was unaware of and noted that we were flying together and seemed to have a rapport. He went on to say that professional standards had received several reports that you were way out of line on the jet, and that some had circumvented IPA and gone to the company saying you needed to go. The company punted it back to the IPA. He asked me to have a heart to heart with you and I did. I told you the truth of the matter as told to me. You thanked me for it, and you're still here. That my friend is the unvarnished truth of the matter whether you choose to remember it or not.
There it is brother...you asked to hear it. Now it's your choice to listen or play the victim yet again. Your choice.
Yet again here we are...you give the impression that the union and the company are out to get you. You've said it on the B & G. You've said it here. It's as though you're saying you're surrounded by ***holes.
Seriously? I dunno brother, this clip comes to mind:

Remember my friend...you're the one who started the direct personal accusations and labels on this thread.

Maybe take some time off from the internet and just stick to those prostitutes you know so well in Asia?
