Aircraft lock for 18 months as a new hire. You can change domiciles if your seniority holds it, but you stay in the same aircraft.

18 month equipment lock.

You MIGHT be able to change bases if you get B757/767 or MD11. But the A300 is only SDF and the B747 is only ANC.

B757 is in SDF, ONT and MIA

MD11 is SDF or ANC.

Good Luck

Check the bid packs before you wish too hard for either of those. Apparently the schedules are so bad, at least in Mia, that reserve doesn't fall to the bottom and the bottom lines aren't commutable. Same for the SDF A 300. Not an issue if you live in base I guess

So if I were to somehow get MIA domiciled as a new hire, and happen to live in SFLA, with the expected junior man schedule/trips...does this make it palatable...basically driving to work?

If you mean the east coast of SFLA, it would help. Some trips however would be like doing reduced rest overnights at home.

Ref MIA: With regards to driving, it's not the driving to work that is the problem. It's the morning drive home that kills you. If your drive is within an hour, you should be fine. If you are further out, then a crashpad would probably work better.

SDF. There's a bunch of guys who live Ft Myers, Sarasota, Tampa, Orlando who flat out will not bid MIA.

I'm only an hour drive from MIA so I could deal with some crappy trips for that.
Is it a hard commute from Florida to SDF though? Do most people jump on UPS flights? I'm wondering how the commute and show time or end of your trip time would work out???
