He is defiantly a legend in his own mind and the minds of people who don't know any better. He is a lonely old man who is trying desperately to hang on to his past. As an organization CLA does a lot of business, next to Avjet no other 135 has a better lock on the Hollywood crowd. However, Avjet is a far better place to be employed as a pilot at.

The entry level guys going to the Lear's doing charter will be flown really hard. The managed airplanes are better to be on. However those differ aircraft to aircraft just like any other management company. As stated before, in this area of the country Avjet is better. Though there are many others that are way worse.

IMHO Avjet and TWC are better then most of the other guys, who are far behind from a pilot employment perspective. As far as operationally I have never worked for CL so I couldn't really comment.

Avjet is better how? They are even worse than CL. Airline-industry management tactics, unsupportive and untrustworthy executives who "hate" pilots, even worse 401k, outdated infrastructure, you name it. How do you think they paid that $10 million lawsuit from the crash at Aspen? Who has that kind of money?

There is no great management company IMO, unless you are the CEO and screwing everyone, including owners. These clowns are a license to steal.

And, regarding Lacy's flight time, uh yeah, no way he did anything over 30000 hours.

I have worked for them on and off for years. No 135 is perfect but Avjet is about as good as it gets. It pays pilots well over NBAA standards, gives you time off when you ask for it and most years pays nice bonuses, not to mention raises which I had gotten sometimes twice a year. If you work hard for them they reward you. As for airline management tactics you are greatly misinformed. As for the 10 million, insurance covered that. Avjet has made mistakes but they have always learned and grown from them. Hate is a strong word but they definatly don't put up with winey, lazy employees/pilots. Ask your self if you owned a company would you?

I have an LA-based buddy applying for an opening at CL. Anyone have updated info on salaries/pay ranges for both mid sized and large cabin aircraft for newhire FOs? Most info I am finding is old...

And no need for the scab commentary, etc. Just looking for salary/pay range numbers please.

Clay is one of those guys that can fly but his reputation is shot by saying he had 100k hours...30 years ago. Guys that fly for him can't wait to leave, but they tend to fly their asses off for lousy pay in LA, so there is that, time builders that move on. I personally think it would be a great place to start, but not end up.
