If they allowed a home base option or opened up more bases at least in the midwest they'd have more luck attracting more pilots and eventually making life easier for everyone.

Our pay, benefits, and schedule are not competitive in any way and management does not seem to care. FO's at regional airlines are making almost as much as our captains. Where the industry stands today, I don't know why any one would want to come work at AirShare. I think its time we start talking about unionizing if we want to see any change.

Pilots have done this to themselves. They will basically fly for nothing. What needs to happen is for people to leave companies that have poor pay, poor schedules, etc, etc, and eventually, if management wants to stay in business they will have to improve the conditions. I'll bet they don't charge less for their services.

Can you share with us how long you have been working at AirShare and what attracted you to the company?

If you want to see change, LEAVE. In fact, you talking about unionizing at a place like EAS is a good way to have your ass put on the street, that isn't a company that can survive with a union, and why you decided to put your name and the company you work for in your username, is probably the most idiotic thing I have ever seen on APC.

Meanwhile, 121 terms and conditions get better and better. Even the regionals are looking competitive in comparison to what some 135 and frax operators are offering. Who knew that Piedmont would offer a first year pilot nearly $60K (and then a $20K retention bonus if you stay one year) to fly right seat in a Dash 8?

I'm guessing he doesn't even work here. For the record, just finished September last night with 16 days and only 6 overnights. I've done more in a month, and I've done less in a month...but generally the numbers are manageable and there are some fantastic layovers.
