It's my understanding, as I am not an office guy, that they are still planning to contact furloughees for these slots as well. I agree that it's all coming from the top-down but if you're seriously interested in coming over then I'd contact Heather Hepler (Flexjet HR) and see where you are on the list. PM me and I'll be happy to give you her e-mail address.

I've spoken with Heather and she's awesome. But her hands are tied. Nobody knows why this is happening but they agree that it will delay furloughed pilots from finding work. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to be in the hiring pool, but a guy can tread water just so long.

Do you know what you are talking about? The ceo and most upper management are Flex jet folks. I personally don't think any pilots from FO would accept a postion where their pay was frozen and then they are stapled to the bottom of a seniority list. That list is how the schedule is bid and upgrades are determined so they would be junior to even the most recently hired! That would just be stupid!

This should raise a huge red flag to the flexjet pilots about the dangers of an at will company! Do you think Kenn would hesitate to put all pilots on the street if NJ offerred to buy him out so they could bring back all if their furloughed?

You are right. KR would do that. One reason I liked working for him was that he's a ruthless businessman. The problem is that sometimes he turns his sword toward his own. I've watched it for 15 years. As far as flops guys go I'd say some near the bottom of the list will jump over to Flex. Maybe enough to keep those of us in the hiring pool from getting on for another year or two. Right now I'm thinking maybe there are better companies to work for. Thoroughly disgusted.

AND yes the ceo and most management are flex BUT flex was a great company not so long ago. This is KR union busting. He's screwing the rep of one good company to kill off the union at another company. I am just collateral damage.

Apparently, there are some that are making the jump according to my sources. I have no idea where they are on the FLOPs seniority list but it's not a bad deal all together. Whether or not it's union busting by Kenn is debatable, which I happen to think it is a back door way of merging the two lists. That being said, unless you have an issue of sitting right seat after having been a captain at FLOPs, I'd don't see the downside of it. They keep their captain salary, they have access to schedules that consists of 4, 5, and 6 day trips, probably more vacation, up to 9% 401k match, of which 3% is contributed regardless of what the pilot contributes, and a growing company. We do have our shortcomings but I'm glad I'm here and not at FLOPs even with the 1108 on board.

APC says that Flex is hiring but when you go to their home page, nothing. Can somebody please clear up if Flex is hiring? The opening of the Chicago bases has me very interested. Thanks

Off the street hiring won't happen for a while I bet. There are still plenty of FLOPs guys on furlough.

APC is very outdated. I've tried updating it twice with no success. The short answer is that we are not hiring off the street anytime soon. Only FLOPs pilots are being invited over. The Chicago base had been around for a few yes now. Just last month we opened up an additional 34 bases making possible to live most anywhere you'd choose.
