No. They'll interview any of them regardless of where they currently live. However, they'll probably ask if they'll be willing to move to one of our bases. And of course, the answer is "yes." However, when it comes right down to it, they don't care where they live so long as they are within 1.5 hours of their base on their day 1. We have plenty of commuters who do just this this. You also get to choose your base.

Here's the catch. It has been announced in the past day or so that we are going to interview furloughed Flight Options pilots first before they resume normal off the street hiring.
That answers a question:

I had a phone interview 2 weeks ago and then 1 hour before they rescheduled then they emailed me that they got a word from ops saying to stop street hiring. I guess the FLOPS pilots is the reason..

well hopefully they didn't change their minds!

Oh man that must suck. Do have been that close and then get the cold shoulder. Look on the bright side, when they do start street hiring again you should be #1 on the list

Not necessarily. I know a guy who had a NWA interview all set up. They called him the week before and told him they had stopped hiring, but he'd be one of the first ones called when they resumed.

He never heard from them.

Any new news? Are the Flight Options guys taking the interviews? Have any been hired? Any classes running or planned?

They've called 43 and hired one. No class dates announced yet.

1 out of 43, not a good ratio. Maybe they're not that hot on hiring them.

Or maybe they have moved on to other positions and don't want to give up seniority, or are just not interested

It's a good ratio if you are one of the guys that had their interviews canceled until the list was fully gone through. 1 out of 43 doesn't mean that Flexjet is a sucky place to work and that no one wants to come here.

Yeah, at that rate 4 Flops guys will get hired for how many (60?) jobs? Any more guys bailing out for the airlines?
