Strange why? As people move off the 190 it has to be filled by someone. That somebody is new hires.

Just seems most of the new hire classes lately are 65% AB (approximately) and 35% E190.........I'm not complaining.

It seems to fluctuate depending on when peoples equipment lock is up and how many bid off at a time.

If Jetblue had more gates in LAX then they could tell LGB authorities to play ball or else JB could really shut down completely and move everything to LAX.

Also, imagine if JetBlue had the VA gates in DAL. How many DCA/LGA slots do you think SWA would give up in order to get those DAL gates?? I'd bet it would be quite a significant amount.

Then they could expand the Mint service to all west coast markets and not have to worry about VA. They would have arguably one of the top First class transcon products, and the lowest fare of anyone.
so you havent thought about this at all? Interesting points Fly. I learned something

This same thing comes up every other week on bluepilots, so it has become well rehearsed!

It's not strange if you look at the system bid. Some of the A320 training slots are filled with E190 to A320 transition guys, so I'm betting the next class is the same. I think there are 35 E190s that need to be hired by September, so the classes shod have more E190s for a while.

Frankly, the lack of E190 guys in the last 10 classes or so has been strange. It was the other way around when I was hired.

Id bet they would be more willing than Alaska. Branson isn't afraid of selling his airlines. No doubt JetBlue would be the surviving brand.

The other question is would JetBlue want to merge?

How about a threesome? Virgin, Alaska, and Jetblue?

Why not toss in that pretty hula girl from Hawaii and call it a 4-some?!

Id love to see the 4 carriers combine, but I'll save that diatribe for another time
