Default Allegiant Hiring

I just applied to Allegiant yesterday looking to end my flying career with a day trip airline. What's Allegiant's hiring process like? I live in southeast FL flying the Saab 340 for Silver and would hope for FLL basing. How likely might this be? I was hoping to get to WIA this week to speak directly with an Allegiant representative, but my flying schedule does not permit. Thanx.

Silver guys should be here considering they are FL based and AAY wants folks to live in base. But I gave yet to meet any former silver guys here. I've heard they prefer guys with jet time. You need to get some face time at a hiring conference...

They have hired plenty with only turboprop time from Mesa and Great Lakes. Maybe they have shifted to some different perspective since then. I don't see the need to fly above 25,000 feet to be competitive here though.

If you fly a turboprop you can fly a jet and vice versa.

What are your credentials? Where do you work, and how many hours do you have? I bet you don't answer.

I came from turbo prop land... but that was nearly 10 years ago. Today's new hires are mostly republic and express jet. I haven't met a turbo prop guy in ages. Personally I would snatched up as many Silver guys/gals as I could.

I gots my instrument rating and am working on getting my multi right now. I should be ready for Allegiant by Halloween hopefully. Thanks for any tips you can provide. What about the ATP written though, does allegiant have that program or are pilots on their own for that?

Good luck to you. I suggest reading through this entire thread, whilst retaining a healthy dose of skepticism. Remember the two largest fallacies about Allegiant are, "Home Every Night", and " Home every night is a lie."

I flew with a brand new captain who came from GLA about a year and a half ago. My sim partner was a dash 8 pilot so not having jet time isn't a show stopper.
