They certainly are. The amount of hiring wouldn't make much sense if things really were done in 9 months. Especially given that all new hires won't get on the lines until late spring/early summer. Your certainly not getting a very good ROI on new pilots if your closing up shop 6 months later.

Also (as of now) they plan to start painting planes in August. Again I don't know why you would start that process if you really weren't going to be around for, at least, another couple years.

Ultimately, if the option of exercising the extension is 100% at the discretion of the company (and not AA as we've been told) I have no clue why you wouldn't utilize it.

Finally, I have heard this summer is going to be our busiest to date. I find that interesting given the "game plan" of having all the cheap pretty boys at PSA and other WO's do almost all of AA feed.

This summer will be interesting for sure. I'm looking forward to it.
