It's alright, it only took me about seven years to figure out what backfill was on a vacancy.

The longer they wait to announce the future of our company, the harder it is going to be to attract the remaining pilots out there qualified to go to a regional. Those that are also willing to take crap wages after their investment on the ridiculous training programs to get their ATP rating.

But, it is a shock to see so many upgrades at once when CA attrition has been a trickle at best.

That is my thought exactly. A friend of mine just received an e-mail, on Monday, inviting him to an "open interview" I guess they are conducting them on the 29-30th in PHL.
He applied super late on Sunday night. I've never heard of them doing stuff like this before. I've also had someone I know on the interview team tell me they basically have to hire everyone they meet with (unless you really screw up the interview - ie being a total dick etc). The pool is beyond dry right now and as you said with no word it's going to start to become next to impossible.

Every month they don't announce, they are only screwing themselves. More and more people will bail. With basically no new hires they will be in severe risk of not being able to cover the lucrative summer season.

I don't know how big of a deal it is, but I find it interesting they officially named CD CEO now.

They have nothing to announce IMO. They would have by now if they had something. They will keep telling the pilot group that an announcement is immenent and the planes will be painted to mitigate attrition as long as possible.
