Anything New At AWAC?

Aag doesn't own AWAC. Nor can they ask them to take concessions. They can't shut down a contract. Nobody here knows the wording on the contract/extension.

On another note, hopefully the AWAC guys aren't squeezed for concessions thanks to the likes of PSA. They have the best contract in the industry and it would be a shame if they're forced into concessions due to reasons outside their control.

So glad you guys get a kick out of "the 260 pilots that ruined 18,000 pilots' regional industry theory." Shows the intellect level of some of you and why it's so easy for management to get concession out of PSA, endeavor, envoy, PDT, XJT and get people to fly for silver, lakes, commutair, republic, go jets, etc... Sorry if I missed any regionals that took concessions or has a horrible contract but people still go there to pay their dues. I'm not saying I'm smarter but I'm smart enough to know that most of these concessions were forced upon the pilots whether it was through scare tactics or punishment.

I wouldn't trust a thing CLT GUY says, he will do anything to get more suckers below him in that dirtbag company.

The AAG WO's were more forced to take offers. It's not like PSA, ENVOY or PDT can't go fly for another carrier.
AWAC if they don't like what they see can just walk away and look for someone else to fly for. AAG Wo's don't have that option.

Nobody is going to force them into concessions. AAG will probably hand them a offer based on what they feel is market value for there flying and it's up to them to take it or leave it.

How is AWAC going to walk away and just go fly for another carrier. They haven't been able to do that because they are too tight with the cash flow the owners want to come in. Hence, no delta deal.

And herein lies the problem. "Market value" was arbitrarily lowered by a certain company for their own personal gain, thereby forcing other regionals to match them with concessions. All during a time of record profits, cheap oil, and a dwindling supply of labor. AAG management tried to circumvent the basic laws of supply and demand (and succeeded) and PSA was all too willing to roll over and help them with their plan. And that is why PSA pilots are looked down upon, whether they were there for the vote or not. They're not called brownstreak, Pond Scum Airlines, etc; for no reason.
Parker offered PSA the 900's like 6 years ago. They told Parker to shove it. Parker said okay and he sent them to Mesa. Did Mesa step up and say no way??? Of course not... they took those 900's with open arms. If PSA had told Parker to shove it again he'd have given more 900's to Mesa again.
I won't blame PSA pilots as much as I'll blame ALPA for letting it happen. ALPA national is just as responsible as anyone.
Even if PSA has a bad name they sure aren't having trouble filling up classes and from what I hear they are making as much or more money then most Regionals with the ability to drop to 65hrs and then pick up flying again at premium values.
And now people from other regionals are jumping over there because if you have 121 time you'll now become a Capt. in less then a year easy because many can't upgrade there now.
It is what it is.

AAG says "Here's your offer", AWAC says to pilots, "In order to maintain our profit margin we are unable to operate under the current contract and we need to bring [pilot] pay rates down to industry average rates to remain competitive."

It just depends on how much cheaper Parker wants AWAC to operate for. I can tell you it won't be at the current level.
