Anything New At AWAC?

Remember when you guys were saying that if they were granted their extension it would be for only like 40 or 50 airplanes? Rember that? Straight from koji supposedly. Well they're staying at 71 planes. May lose a couple but from what I've heard, they'll be replaced with planes from kingman. Your doom and gloom for AWAC is greatly over exaggerated. None of your predictions have proven true thus far for them.

That being said you guys are a fantastic geoup and a great airline and I truly hope you guys get more flying at another airline.

Look at what Delta's doing to the 50 seaters. It's coming to AAG also.

Hell even Parker stated last January that AWAC would use the extension.
Two years doesn't really buy into much of the pilot shortage situation though. 2018-2019 is where it starts ramping up.
Every time I see that "50 years of stability" banner I laugh. What a joke. AWAC was started in 1993 after Air Wisconsin furloughed hundreds for several years when UAL bought their routes. Some of the most senior guys on property were door to door salesmen in that time frame because they were out of a job. Apparently they didn't learn from that.

Yes, but it seems today you need a bigger plane to find more flying. Maybe they'll get some 900's or 175's. Many airlines are having trouble with staffing and AWAC has the pilots. Should be interesting.

Now, if we sign a deal to take pay cuts, increase our insurance premiums to 50%, and agree to fly anything up to 180 seats for less than what we make now, then I'm sure we can get all the flying we could ever need. Like was mentioned previously, use this extension time wisely. Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

Everyone knew the extension was contractually available to AWAC, and I don't think anyone thought they'd turn it down.

All this extension does is by each side time. Time for AAG to build up there WO's and time for AWAC to start looking for another partner. Win win for both sides.
