Because it's a Airline Pilot Forum! If you don't want any other airlines posting on a Thread then start your own AWAC Website.
Plus I have more then a few friends that work there and I see the writing on the wall in Terms of AAG. Piedmont will be taking over all the AWAC flying.

While it is certainly possible and most likely Parker's master plan, I think Piedmont has a difficult task ahead in taking all of Air Wisconsin's flying completely by 2018. It's taking flying away from AWAC, who for the most part has been adequately staffed and moving it to PDT who might deal with the growing pains of a new fleet type, new domiciles, and increased flow in an ever worsening pilot shortage.

Nothing is guaranteed in this life or career. Boasting about something you truly have no control over or insight into is unprofessional at best. AWAC's been around for 50 years, of which I spent 9 there. They always land on their feet. That's more of a guarantee than your precious flow-through so I suggest you keep your supreme confidence in check. Besides, what makes AA so great that someone should aspire to hang their hat on the hopes of a flow-through? Keeping your options to one major is a huge mistake.

AWAC hasn't been around 50 years. Air Wisconsin was sold off to United who bought them in the late 80's or early 90's for their ORD slots. Remember everyone thought they were going to be UAL pilots? They hired two guys, the vast vast majority were furloughed. A new company was formed and the FFD stuff was born. They still had a great relationship with UAL management, however that ended in the bankruptcy.
It's unfortunate but it is what it is. I will say when US Airways was doing the hiring they hired a ton of AWAC guys and very little PSA/PDT, I think they saw the value in the pilot group and liked the guys there. I only knew two guys turned down after getting interviews.
It sucks about the DAL flying, I know it was really helping morale.

While technically correct on the history, why would they be celebrating 50 years? What exists today is the result of smart business moves and is worth celebrating.

You're stating everything as fact and using words like 'reality.' This isn't a reality until it happens. If you're crystal ball is as perfect as you imply, then I suggest winning the lottery.
Easy to see that as boasting, which was your word, not mine.
Leaving AA and flying for another major would be a step-up for AWAC so I hope it happens.

I totally agree that it will be tough for Piedmont to staff these 60 ERJ's. If we even get to 60 before placement of 175's.
However that being said AAG is looking to move all regional flying in house. Who's to say that don't try and buy AWAC or RAH if it gets to staffing issues? Who's to say they won't renew AWAC contract which I'd highly doubt?
But what I'm saying is that if AWAC doesn't secure flying before the end of it's AAG contract many.... I mean many pilots will start to bail. We saw it here at Piedmont until we signed out last contract giving us a flow and secure new planes. AAG has gone full force in taking whatever means it does to staff and it will probably come from Cherry Picking at other regionals. They are about to announce more incentives in the future.
But you are right it will be something to see if AAG can get these planes staffed. I'm sure some new FO's at other regionals might see PDT is a good opportunity to get in now before the RJ's come. But will it even be enough????
