Many say that but in reality if they are tight on coverage and there are "critical" trips, why on earth would the company approve drops which just creates additional uncovered flying?

It just depends on how much cheaper Parker wants AWAC to operate for. I can tell you it won't be at the current level.
Of course Parker wants AWAC to operate for less. That's what I was saying. It's not gonna come from the owner's profit margin though.

If it is in their contract that a pilot is able to drop any trip he wants without denial, then I stand corrected.

Guy I was flying with just talked to his buddy in CLT. He left Endeavor after 5 years there to go to PSA. He just finished initial training and is going straight to upgrade training. And now more Endeavor people are seeing that and coming.
PSA isn't have trouble getting people. They are just having trouble trying to train them all as fast as the planes come in.

It's true... Guys are getting out of new hire training, finishing IOE, and going straight to upgrade. AWAC is a great company and I have friends there. I know AAG can't give up their AWAC feed so I wouldn't worry, you guys will still have jobs.

Squib I'm not sure exactly how it works. But I hear them all the time in the Crewroom and it seems like a loophole they have in there contract and they are taking full advantage of it.

yes I agree and it will come down to how bad Parker wants them and how much he's willing to pay. I think the better deal Parker can get the longer the contact. The worst the deal for him the shorter the contract.

I am glad to hear they're getting picky. Training is becoming a real bottleneck. One recent class has only got a third through training after six months. One third quit and the others are in limbo?

This class is fairly typical from what I'm hearing.

Sims are apparently very caught up. Went from 6 week breaks for junior guys to 1-2 weeks. Senior guys start Tuesday after ground schools ends Friday.
