What did AAG pilots (I assume you mean APA pilots) have to do with PSA screwing the regional industry?

Yeah, it's pretty tough to for regional pilots to make gains when they all agree to no more concessions, except one particular group(PSA), and then that group hoses all of us by agreeing to concessions...

I haven't seen the other parts of the company presentation but pay and benefits have an equal if not greater benefit than upgrade time. Yes some other places move you up faster, but that doesn't mean you move-on any faster. Plus you are going to want to enjoy where you work...I haven't heard that often from pilots at other companies.

Curious that you require that the upgrade time "needs" to come down from four years...that is a pretty interesting demand. What happens if you don't upgrade in that amount of time at the airline you choose...ask for a refund?

Pick a job...work the job...be thankful for all that you learn and gain...then move on.
Just want to be clear... I am not chasing an upgrade nor do I have any unrealistic expectations about upgrade times. I want to be ready for the position before I upgrade and will fully invest myself to which ever company I end up at.

Maybe "need" wasn't the right word to use when talking about the AWAC upgrade times dropping. What I am doing is weighing all of my options and researching every variable. I think this is important in such a volatile industry.

The reason I would like to see upgrade times drop from four years at AWAC is because I have a family to support. The sooner I make captain, the better off my family is financially. We have a mortgage, student loans, car payments etc... Most of us do. FO pay will be tough. This does not mean I want to chase an unrealistic upgrade. I want to be fully prepared for it. I simply see that many airlines have shorter upgrades (2-3 years) when compared with AWAC and this has to be a factor I at least consider when making my decision, as is the contract.

AWAC is my number one choice right now. I am very impressed about all the positive things I continue to hear about the company. It really does sound like a great place to work, and it does sound like a different atmosphere than most regionals. I just want to make sure I make the best decision for my family.

Hopefully, I will get to fly with some of you in the future. Very excited right now.

Don't be ashamed of wanting a quick upgrade. It's the only way to escape the regional game unless you're heavily connected. Just keep in mind that by choosing to come to AWAC, that there's probably a 50/50 chance that they won't exist in 2.5 years. While those airlines with 2-3 year upgrades you mentioned, would be offering you a spot in Upgrade Ground School around the same time.

No, you can thank CLt guy and psa for voting down a pilots total worth. Sure its all rainbows and butterfly's for the pilots that got to flow to aa. But thanks to PSA for yet another notch downwards making this career path pathetic.

I have no direct knowledge, but I can not imagine AAG giving up the lift that AWAC provides.
Obviously you have no direct knowledge of this subject. AWAC has never won a rfp, they always finance their flying.

There are almost no pilots left at the company that voted yes. They are all long gone and at the majors. If you want to judge them, find them and tell them so. What is left is a new pilot group that choose the airline that worked best for them. Personally, I was tired of commuting for an airline that was on it's last legs and wanted to be home. For the hundreds of refugees from Endeavor and Comair, it was somewhere that they could upgrade quickly and get the pay that they needed. Most everyone here is making $66/hr by the end of their second year.

Don't judge until you are put in a situation. If you think for one minute that AAG isn't going to ask for serious concessions of AWAC, you are mistaken. They will ask for a more efficient operation or shut it down, just like they did with Piedmont, Envoy, and PSA.

I don't remember the number...it was something like 260 that voted yes. We have lost a couple hundred since then, and have 1200 pilots on the list now. So at most, there are about 100 "yes" voters out of a pilot group of 1200.
