just one word: bigot.
the amount of ridiculous, wild a$$ speculation here is astounding. for professionals who rely on empirical evidence to do our jobs, where assumption can kill you, the balderdash that posters come up with here is ridiculous.
if this was a thread on a chemtrailing forum, i could see it. but "airline pilot central" ... ??
give me a break.

Some folks fling those words around anymore just because you don't agree with their point of view or to pretend as if they are of some higher moral character. Such a shame to make an accustaion of that nature and such a rush to judgement to boot! Truly sad.

Some of the latest bits of info are the arcs north and south derived from one satellite hit at a certain time that could encompass the location of the aircraft at any point along the arcs at that time. I have not heard how much fuel was left at that time? The northern arc seems to go over Tibet and Nepal where there are a lot of remote peaks above 20,000 feet.

This circling of the wagons is cute.
I haven't "gone after" anyone because they're a Moderator. UAL T38 Phlyer is still a Moderator, right? I didn't go after him. On the contrary, I used 2 model examples of him posting substantive responses in a respectful way, as any good forum participant would be expected to do.
I took issue with the condescending and disrespectful way in which one particular Moderator was treating a new member of the forum, and then another who saw the need to add a smart alec remark about feelings and trophies. I know you guys don't have a personal stake in the success or failure of this website, but I would think the owners don't want you running off good business.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I am not aware of any requirement to always agree with Moderators. Is there one?
Tell you what, make that a rhetorical question. There's no need to hijack this thread any further.

so many theories. While it is fun reading everything and getting into the mystery, I really hope they find that it crashed very soon.
Families really need closure... and the last thing they need to hear is that their loved ones were subject to terrorist practices. They must be glued to the news, the articles, the spokespeople. And there is so much false information going around that they may get their hopes up for a minute, and then let back down. I doubt one of them wants to read a headline "missing 777 found on moon". Who knows, they are very desperate, some might even believe it.
Although I'm particular to the one I read where it says a C-5 cruised overtop it, had terrorists jump down on ropes, attached them to the airliner, and dragged it around like in the dark knight rises to an alternate airport. Where did they get a C-5 anyways?
