The economy is in free fall, we fall farther behind the curve in terms of preparedness everyday, and Italy is the hardest hit country of any other country on this planet (we might change that).
The virus effects everyone from every country the same. It is a world-wide pandemic, that is threatening everyones well being - both financially and physically.
If you chose to focus on where it originated, stigmatizing the Chinese rather than focus of fighting it, you have to ask yourself why that is being done. In this country, this tactic of constantly tying it china is used to deflect blame on another country rather than take responsibility for our own leaders lack of actions. "I don't take responsibility at all".
We also have a long history of doing this in this country... calling diseases like HIV the "gay plague", and delaying our response to it until millions were dead. I don't fall into that group, so whatever!
It's covid-19, it's coming after your jobs and your health. That's the focus. Focus on anything else or deflect attention elsewhere and you're a moron.

That aside this writer does have a valid point about focusing on getting through this crisis without blaming someone. It doesn't matter at this point where it came from. It's here. I'm already furloughed on account of this and I'd like to get back to work.

ARWMEC sent an email acknowledging the UAL comments yesterday about eliminating 50-seaters. Said they were asking management about what that actually means and would inform the pilot group. Mostly a platitude but at least it's been acknowledged and addressed. Not sure what else could be done short of management volunteering information.

Yep just saw that myself. From the few folks I've spoken to with connections to upper management, they have also mentioned the supposed "strong contract with United". Although I'm sure we shall see truly how strong that contract really is with all that is going on. Wonder which of the regionals have their United flying contract coming up first?
