I don’t know why people are getting so butt hurt about this issue. It is a Chinese virus, that’s where it bloody originated from didn’t it? Ebola name came from the damn Ebola River didn’t it? MERS is Middle East right? I fail to see the racism element.
People seriously need to get over it.
Also some bat eating or peacock eating schmucks in Wuhan practically tanked the world in the one month. I’m more butt hurt about that because it affected my career, lifestyle and my ability to earn.

Sorry to see the IAD base closure today. I suspect CAE is next. I look forward to the imminent ATW crew base and then a DEN base once we vaccinate the Kung Flu and cut off future Chinese relations. Time for the slogan "Uniting people, connecting the world" to go Buh Bye.

I say we treat any Exotic Food Market that pops up in the future like any Terrorist organization we have treated in the last 20 years. And that includes the use of GPS guided bombs. To say these Chinese people did nothing wrong to spread the Wuhan Virus is to say Osama Bin Laden did nothing wrong to create 9-11. Yes, two different situations but they MUST be treated the same if we do NOT WISH TO REPEAT THESE TIMES again.

Anecdotally I've spoken with a CFI who's trained many Chinese nationals and has told me he'd never fly in Chinese airspace or on a Chinese carrier. Lots of horror stories. Wonder if their labs are run with the same level of proficiency?

I’ve never despised or hated any race/culture/nationality but I’ll make an exception in this case.
I blame the Chinese for the mess we are in today with our personal lives, lifestyles, careers and any sense of normalcy we had and the world will never be the same after this. They basically screwed the world eating their flying rats and on top of it sending bucketloads of their tourists with their selfie sticks everywhere to screw it even more and nobody stopped them.
When I look at my wife and one year old child I ask myself how I’ll continue putting a roof over their heads and food on the table. 6 weeks ago I didn’t worry because we were flying high literally.
so for me, the Chinese can go to hell.

I’ve been to China (big cities and the smaller towns) and I’ll tell you this, they eat vile things that would make a billy goat puke (to quote from Rambo)...like some of the things they eat make you sick and you ask yourself what goes through their heads when they want to eat that crap.

If anything good comes of this, it will hopefully be that American manufacturers and consumers wise up and manufacturing starts coming back home from China.
The amount of work we have outsourced is mind boggling.
Hopefully, now American consumers and corporations will realize that paying a bit more for US made products is worth it for the greater good.
Not allowing China to control so much of the supply chain will hopefully be the narrative of consumers, producers and politicians going forward.
Our vulnerability has been exposed. Fortunately, we still have time to right the ship.

Word! I’m happy to pay $500 extra for something made in America. Its time the world decided to cut off China’s supply chain because they control too much.
