The economy is in free fall, we fall farther behind the curve in terms of preparedness everyday, and Italy is the hardest hit country of any other country on this planet (we might change that).

The virus effects everyone from every country the same. It is a world-wide pandemic, that is threatening everyones well being - both financially and physically.

If you chose to focus on where it originated, stigmatizing the Chinese rather than focus of fighting it, you have to ask yourself why that is being done. In this country, this tactic of constantly tying it china is used to deflect blame on another country rather than take responsibility for our own leaders lack of actions. "I don't take responsibility at all".

We also have a long history of doing this in this country... calling diseases like HIV the "gay plague", and delaying our response to it until millions were dead. I don't fall into that group, so whatever!

It's covid-19, it's coming after your jobs and your health. That's the focus. Focus on anything else or deflect attention elsewhere and you're a moron.

Or lighten up and have a laugh instead of getting an aneurysm because someone said something you disagree with. I do appreciate ad hominem attacks, but people with low iq are triggered but your reference to morons, so please stop discriminating.

In other words it's not racist but you're offended.

Everyone quit it. We aren't here to sort through the politics of everything.

The better topic is, will this LOA keep us afloat for long enough?

that's a great question. How do we objectively begin to answer it?

I’m hoping an effective national lockdown won’t be one of those changes big enough to not “in fact, prevent furloughs”

The fact that you are a polyanna and most likely liberal is your own fault. The fact that you choose to stick your head in the sand and not seek critical answers to questions while labeling others questions and character racist is your own short coming. To tie this virus to China is not wrong, it is exactly what should be done at every opportunity. The world needs to understand that China is consistently the source - and their coverup, lack of cooperation and their misleading government has cost not only thousands of lives but critical time we could have used 3 months ago to fight this. They police exposure to Facebook, but not disgusting wet meat markets that pose a global health threat? I'll let you do your own research. How about that instead of blaming our government? You don't seem to care about those important tidbits. Of course there are shortcoming with our own response. But at some point you have to ask yourself why these deadly viruses continue to spread from China, and hold them accountable, instead of suggesting people are racist for asking the question. The people of China continue to put the global well being at risk by engaging in barbaric and downright grotesque eating habits. Despite their own people becoming infected and dying, these disgusting eating practices will not change - which is stunning. Well, now the chickens have come home to roost, unfortunately. Perhaps they shouldn't be eating bat soup with a side of fried porcupine?

So even though you call people racist, you’re reasoning for calling them that isn’t even there. I have not been convinced, but I do appreciate seeing where your line of thinking is.
