... That they 'opened' up their economy and both new cases and deaths are increasing daily. Not too surprising:

Like I don’t even know what to say to this. Let’s talk Italy, let’s talk China, Britain, France, Korea, Taiwan I mean come on are we really gonna waltz around the world in search of one data point that maybe supports you?

Sir the facts are thus: it is worse than the flu even with intervention. We do not want to stay isolated forever, only as long as makes sense for health and safety. The goal is not no deaths, the goal is a reasonable number of deaths and the main reason we are in that position is because of social distancing.

I rest my case. I need a drink.

Again, you're replying to statements no one ever said

Yeah, I'm out too. It's the same loop of 1) BS claim, 2) strawman some argument no one made, 3) end with some douchey snipe. It's beer:30

You don't seem to understand how vectors work. If the economy is fully reopened then bars will be full again. People will spread COVID at a much higher rate. The same people that were in the bar the night before now go to the grocery store and spread the COVID they got in the bar to a 60 year old that is doing her weekly shopping before going back into self isolation.

If the economy is in lockdown, then it is less likely that people will be spreading COVID at the grocery store.

Why I love pilots:
1. When needed we become experts in statistics
2. at the drop of the hat were qualified economists
3. With no advanced notice we have become experts in microbiology!

Someone disagree with your view point? Find an article (a paper if your real good) to support you position. That “idiot” has an expert, find your own expert!

4. pilots can be expert research analysts!

In short, pilots are amazing!! That’s why everyone loves us, because we can do anything at anytime!!

Really though, we do want the economy open for numerous reasons. At the same time those of us who value human life don’t want this virus to spread. So we’re in a real bind here!! The funny part is we debate this like any of us has the power to change anything. Well that’s almost true. To those that post links to this or that, or say this or that, make sure you are conveying fact! And if you realize your original position is in Jeopardy, don’t be afraid to be honest and even change your mind. Even though we can’t click our collective fingers and fix all this, we can act with integrity and honesty.

Just my .02 as someone who has been watching all this since well before most YS citizens knew there was a new virus on the block

Still wondering how good his CRM is when safety is not his first concern...

Those PIC skills are in full effect.

I am rather Lucky both my parent are MDs and I was a paramedic in college, but we don’t claim to be expert in anything... Way too much liability

B) It's not the flu. Quit trying to make it the flu.
I said a few pages back it wasn't the flu, unless you're calling it an ILS.

Bars full again anytime soon? I highly doubt it. Many of you will be staying home till you know it's safe.
