I am certainly not a bean counter by any means but expenses paid with the PPP money will not be taxed so the government has basically given ALL businesses an incentive on taking the money should they qualify for it.

Quite honestly the day we get a phone call or email to come back is when I’ll finally believe a recall is happening.
I was out flying with a student this evening and I heard a ZW flight on approach and that gave me hope again. |

Well idk, I'm using paid-leave there to describe some kind of paying people to do nothing. Call it super-long-call reserve or, training will start soon tbd, it's all a similar idea.

Did the vacancy that was supposed to close last night disappear? It's not showing on FLICA anymore. Or is there some weird procedural reason it wouldn't show up anymore?

It takes a day or two to show up as it’s not finalized right at midnight. They have to go in and look at it.

Thanks. I figured it was something like that, but just don't remember prior vacancies disappearing during this period.

Correct me if I’m wrong but this vacancy didn’t include any displacements, right? So if nobody bid into the open positions in IAD then the company would have had to upgrade and recall more pilots?

You are too worried about this. They said all the same socialist stuff about Obama in 2008, and whether or not you liked him, the free market continues to reign, terrorists didn't take over the government, and everyone still has their guns. More than ever actually.
Europe has a lot stricter environmental laws and airlines still operate there. China is investing huge in clean energy and is going to be the world leader in a few years. Are there airplanes there? Yeeeeeees.... United itself just invested big-time in a Carbon capture project so seriously, take a breath. |
