On the contrary it may have to do with open time. I’m hearing a lot of people are calling out or calling sick and as a result junior manning or staff shortages. I even know ORD didn’t have any reserve captains on one or two particular days a few weeks ago.

So how about maybe a few more recalls and let people work when people aren’t able to or perhaps don’t want to. Someone like me will work through Christmas and new year so that someone else can be with their family and celebrate Christmas with them.

but what do I know? I guess I’m just the ignorant FO who wants to put food on the table for his family and a roof over their heads like the other FOs.

I hope people do get recalled so that they can provide for their families. Your response was a little confusing though. We were talking about the government’s handling of COVID, yet you talk about being out of reserves, recalls, and working through Christmas. Those issues have to do with the manpower planning department at Air Wisconsin and how they staffed your company, not a political entity.

All will be well soon.....the Socialist regime will start printing monopoly money. Then when inflation hits and the dollar is worth nothing they can blame Trump.

kind of like the unfunded tax breaks to corporations and the rich? Trump hasn’t done a thing to cut spending yet drastically cut revenue. Only real option to pay the bills is to print money.

Yes....look at all the countries that has worked in.

The average pilot doesn’t know that just because bonuses are withheld at a higher rate doesn’t mean they’re taxed at a higher rate. Can we go back to talking about recalls instead of macroeconomic policy most of us aren’t remotely qualified to discuss?

Like here in the US. We print money to pay debt all the time. Tbh I would rather just raise taxes enough for the programs we have anyway.

Just about every single FO I talk to is picking up open time. We have a lot of pilots currently furloughed!

IDriveJets 12-21-2020 03:24 AM

I highly doubt AW will take the CARES act money to recall people just for 3-4 months and then potentially furlough them again if things don’t improve by March.
