after rethinking it, and after things I’ve heard the VP of flight ops and CP say, such as “we’ll survive through this” I agree. Why take more loan money just to furlough again in 3 months? It sucks, but it seems on brand for ATW.

On the other hand, it would be cheaper for them to take it because it would subsidize all their labor costs, not just the furloughed people. It's net cheaper for them to accept the money.

Especially if there are provisions for loan relief and forgiveness.

I'd expect whatever makes the most money, since that's what corporations do. Probably means take the money, subsidize payroll, (and new planes...?), then furlough everybody in March. Again.
or
if by happenstance three months and a new president are enough to restore public to flying, hurrah, we've gots tons of pilots ready to go.
I'd love to hear the union's take on developments. Maybe JA is putting together an email?

I think the element here is we’re seeing “plenty” of open time but in hindsight it’s not plenty of open time because it’s spread out over all bases.

What we need to see is endless blocks of grey color day in day out for each base to the point we just see grey on the screen because that’ll force staffing and recalls.

Until that happens I’m sitting at home playing Call of Duty (by the way Cold War is AWESOME!) and practicing my culinary skills.

I definitely hope they call back all our fellow pilots soon. Do you know how many are still on furlough?

Just saw Binns’ email sent to me by someone.

Company definitely putting itself in a position to take advantage of future flying and look attractive to any customer.

Recalls - I’d expect recalls for certain individuals but I don’t expect pilots to get called back right now. Makes no business sense just for 3 months.

So what did it say though?
