Maybe it will put an end to 12 hour duty days , with 3 hour sits built in and 10 hour 15 min overnights .

I have a question about bidding. I know trips that touch primary vacation are removed, but if I am on reserve, only the actual days that are in my vacation time are off and no reserve days that touch the vacation are dropped, correct?

basically yes. You must be released by noon the day before your primary vacation starts, and can go back into RSV by noon the day after.
