right that’s my point, anyone fitting this description would have already gone to PSA.

Well the “vacancy” is out, no actual captain vacancies and a loss of lineholders. It seems like they are slowly going to attempt to staff with nothing but reserves.

went from 25.6% (CA) and 22.5%(FO) reserve makeup
to 30.4% (CA) and 36.3% (FO)

Decrease the most commuter friendly base by almost 1/3... that'll make the people happy.

Is this just normal causes or is the beginning of writing on the wall (even if some hope against hope or do not want to face it)?

Just because some people here are so dramatic doesn't mean anything, opening another crew base is perfectly normal and was expected for some time. Having more reserves than before likely just means we didn't have as many reserves as we wanted before, now it's closer to the goal.

Some of you people amaze me. We close a base, it's bad news, we open a base, it's bad news. We have few reserves, bad, we add reserves, bad. We don't add a new type, were doomed, we do add a new type, we're doomed.

Nothing at all would count as decent news for you all.

I agree that we don’t have enough reserves right now, we also don’t have enough line holders. But taking line holders and making them reserves decreases QOL for pilots while making scheduling have an easier job. If it were up the the company everyone would be on reserve and they would just tell people what they are doing last minute as it would make things easier for them.

we are not being all negative on here or dramatic but just stating facts.
Fact 1-they are massively shrinking our only actual commutable base.
Fact 2- they are taking line holders and making them reserves.
Fact 3- Dayton is not an easy commute when compared to the hub airports.
Fact 4- we are under-staffed right now and having a difficult time recruiting.

If you use common sense and connect the dots facts 1-3 will make fact 4 more pronounced. The more pronounced fact 4 is the crappier the QOL is for everyone on the books. Especially when you factor in more will be 2 leg commuting to an outstation to sit reserve.

hoping it’s just a temporary thing till they figure out actual crew usage in DAY. But with our current contract coming to an end and nothing new announced who knows.

What has United said with regard to their 50 seaters flying plans? Aren’t they being reduced greatly? Does that put Air Wisconsin directly in the crosshairs?
