I think it's sad that anyone would swing when someone is down. I have known plenty of employees who stayed at the Regional level because they had seniority, better schedules, and just felt comfortable where they were. I would never ever judge any pilot who is still holding onto hope at Air Wisconsin. It's their choice, and that is all that matters at the end of the day. Wishing all of those still there the absolute best luck. I gotta admit, I would crack a smile just to see the nay sayers proven wrong.

Possibly, but I doubt it. Another regional starting from scratch, having to operate and turn a profit on paper thin margins, after they severely undercut someone?? Possible, but unlikely. Hell, they couldn’t get anyone in the right seat for less than $100-150 per hour, DEC / street captains would require $200-250 or more. Even all the FA groups are begging for more money now.Trying to do that, in this environment, highly unlikely.
The only regional that seems safe are the WOs, SkyWest and Republic.
For everyone else , I think their days are numbered anyway.
Speaking of G7, I heard that big daddy UA isn’t very happy because those old 700s breakdown a lot , lots of issues. Just something to keep your eye on as UA continues to pump cash and ac into mesa/ republic on the 175s. Kirby is very strategic. Plays chess ,while others play checkers. He might have another move up his sleeve , hence all the strategically planned moves.

There are a ton of people waiting over a year for a class date at SkyWest. Some of the Spirit pilots that don’t make it on with a legacy will be interested in DEC jobs. There is more demand for RJ jobs than actual RJ jobs out there. The fury of the regional whipsaw will return. Mark my words.

The issue will be CAs, but I'd bet there are enough out there at Spirit etc that would jump on $100/hr who were hired low time and aren't competitive in the new hiring environment.
During the post-9/11 years regional carriers were getting new jets over $5/hour or less in crew cost differences.

It's sad but true, I know people with roughly 1,500hrs that can't get a regional job currently or are at least having a very hard time. They are all young and have no wife/kids. The money is less important than the career progression and they would fly jets for you tomorrow even if you payed less than a day manager at the Golden arches.
Supply and demand wins again hopefully the scales rebalance.

The only reason pilots are making $100/hr to start nowadays is due to Covid and the large retirement wave that is hitting. They aren't special, people today would have taken the exact same jobs for the same pay.
fyi it's paid not payed

Well, we went from WARN notices with an October 28 date to hiring Recruiting Specialists on October 30. So is the company growing? Are they just trying to recruit to plug the holes where people are leaving? The Recruiting Specialist jobs are for both MKE and ATW. That implies they need to do more recruiting than one person can handle. I really wish the company would communicate better. Yes, NDAs are a real thing but they can at least say something like “we are hiring Recruiting Specialists because we need to grow our numbers” or “we are hiring Recruiting Specialists due to an increase in resignations.” Just tell us something!

If was implied today that the Slate deal isn’t happening and someone else is going to buy us. The rumor is that it’s Eastern Airlines this time. They have 777s, 767s, and/or 737s so I don’t really see where regional jets fit into their plans. The owners seem like they’re really trying to sell us off but they aren’t giving us any clue as to what the future looks like.
