Perhaps that's the difference between your pass rate of the 05-08 era and today?

Insert "back at my former airline we did it this way." Not helpful to anyone.

What explains every airline that has the same pass rate as us? Seeing we have a pretty industry average pass rate.

Just an FYI:

FedEx uses FO for sim instructors as well. They aren't allowed to do check rides, but they sim instruct and do recurrent rides as well

The average FedEx newhire FO was a former military IP or civilian check airman in their past job. Hardly the same as hiring a CFI then putting him/her in the training department after minimal time at the company.

Don't worry Name User, no one is expected to go halfway up the page and read anymore.. I must say the FOs who are former Comair are top notch instructors.

I read that. But the guy you quoted was not. He used to do recurrent ground stuff and was "ok" at it, checked the boxes I guess. I never had him for CPT or sim.

As for the Comair guys they hired a bunch of them as full time professional instructors awhile ago.

Not to thread jack, but I'm currently looking at my options in the DC area...

How is the attrition at Air Wisconson? Are be legacies hiring, and do they hire FOs out of AWAC?

Comparing AWAC to the likes of TSA, CommutAir, Mesa, Piedmont. Everyone says go to PDT but PHL is too far of a drive from here.

You'll make more money and have a higher quality of life at awac, and likely get to a legacy just as quickly.

Legacy quicker??? Not unless AWAC upgrade dropped to one year? However if you wanna live in DC with a good QOL then yes AWAC is good for now. But once the contact ends in 2 years DCA could be bye bye. So it's not a safe bet either.

If you are going to work for a regional be prepared for a ton of things that aren't certain.
