11% is better than 9% or 10%. At least you're putting some thought into it. I meet folks who have done nothing and that's no good at all.

Anyway..... Our 401k is decent if we take advantage of it.

You are gambling your retirement savings (life savings) on hoping for the best? That doesn't sound like a great strategy to me.

Isn't there a "money talk" section to this website?

I am well diversified. But I can't control stock market fluctuations anymore than the man on the moon can do that.

But I'd put my portfolio diversification up against anyone's. It's done extremely well over the past 9 years.

Sorry for the tangent. There probably is such a section. I was just trying to highlight that we do have a decent 401(k) here and that people need to take advantage of it. It was hard fought during the last contract negotiations.

What does the average line holders schedule for a pilot based in ORF look like. Is it mostly 3-4 day trips, or are there lines with a lot of out and backs or two day trips. I was just wondering how many nights in a bid period could someone have the possibility to be home at night for a non commuter.

honestly.. this goes for any airline.. if you're a non commuter, living in base.. bid reserve every month. you'll get guarantee, and can probably fly as little as you want..

It changes all the time. I would say about 80% of the line are 3/4 day trips. The others are a mix of day/two day trips. although some months there are zero day trips. It just depends on the schedule they come up with.

RSV at AWAC you get used. There is no "fly as little as you want".
