Probably good advice for the flying life in general - not just in training. Ostensibly there are enough adults around who can figure out how to have a good time without getting fired or acting like children.

Me too, since early May. Hopefully Moonwolf can shake something loose.

Everyone has relatives that work or have worked at Air Wisconsin that live in appleton?? There are 73,000 people there. Appleton (city) QuickFacts from the US Census Bureau downtown is all college students.

Appleton is one part of the fox cities which combined have a pop of 222,000 About the Fox Cities - Fox Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau

It isn't like as a new hire you're sitting in town watching horse and buggies go by with management on them.

By comparison AWAC has about 130 employees in appleton. Kimberly Clark employs about 7,000 in Appleton.

My advice to a new hire-work hard during the week, have a little responsible fun, and enjoy the experience.

I grew up in Appleton. Great town on many levels.

What you've described about "people knowing people" is (was) much more applicable to K-C than ZW. Seems like half the kids I went to high school with had at least one parent working at K-C, whether it was corporate or at a mill.

Is AWAC still planning on continuing to hire to the end of the year? With most of the major (for lack of better words) regionals buying up E-170s and the industry moving from 50 seaters to more fuel efficient jets does AWAC plan to negotiate for new aircraft or do you think it will continue with the 50 seat RJ? Keep in mind the 2015 contract determination. Thoughts?

I think the latest plan was to bring back the 146s so the older guys here all of a sudden have nothing to complain about. Same concept as legalizing pot so the stoners have nothing to talk about. The contract for a flying extension is all but signed in ATW...Mgmt is scrambling up there to find a fancy enough fountain pen to do the actual signing.

How in the hell do you sink a pontoon? That class shouldn't have been fired, they should have been loaned to NASA for figuring out the near impossible....

Someone asked that same question about the Titanic once.

Anything will sink if you pit a big enough hole in it.
