9E on the other hand put me up in a hotel the night before the interview, positive space ticket both ways, and after an early start at their HQ, made me feel like a celebrity. Employees welcomed me as they came into work, they wished me luck. One guy even came up and shook my hand and said he was pulling for me. A bit strange, but classy.

The interview itself was very professional. An HR rep, a pilot in uniform, and just a smooth experience the whole morning. Was offered on the spot as well, but it felt like they genuinely wanted me to say yes instead of expecting me to say yes. Big difference.

To my peers at AW, if you want to be treated like the pro you are, give 9E a good look. With my previous 121 time and NYC flying, I should be upgrading in a less than a year. I start training in a couple weeks and can't wait to see what the next chapter has in store. Good luck to you guys!
Sounds nice and Professional for sure. I don't blame you for taking the job there especially if you can have an easy commute. Upgrade time and QOL is usually the top things in the selection process. Sounds like you might have found them both. Good Luck.

Your experience at Endeavor mirrors mine at PSA 2 years ago... I'm sorry the interview experience did not live up to your expectations. Endeavor has (maybe) 20 aircraft worth of growth left. You may or may not upgrade as quick as you think.

If you want a full face-to-face interview at PSA, you can ask for one. I am sure they will give you one. It is at the US Air Training Facility in CLT, so not very special for you. They will positive space you to an from the interview. You will get an interview with a pilot in uniform, a rep from HR, and someone in management. They will show you around, show you one of our sims, and make you feel special.

We have more than 30 face to face interviews scheduled this week.

I think that PSA may be trying to not make you jump through hoops and wasting 2 days of your life. You are a professional pilot, and have been through all of this before. You are a qualified and current airline pilot, with a proven record.

Personally, I would rather just be offered the job over the phone and not waste 2 days of my life going to an interview. But, to each his own.

Endeavor is a good company, and I hear great things about their new negotiations. If the base works for you, it is a nobrainer. Good luck. I wish you the best.

Interesting approach. Ever seen the movie 'Up In The Air'? This whole concept reminds me of this line:

Alex Goran: He broke up with you over text message?
Ryan Bingham: That's kind of like firing someone over the Internet.

I think in the case of an interview that is a formality anyways, it is more of an insult to make you go and interview.

Why waste 2 days away from your home and family for such a thing?

If NYC was a better base for you, then the decision was easy. Good luck. Endeavor is a good company.

Idk, I would rather travel to an interview than conduct it over the phone or via Skype; if you're really frustrated about having to leave home and stay in a hotel a night, is being a pilot for you? It's nice to go a check out a companies operation, see some faces and what not and see the set up. To some people that can be a deal breaker; whether or be flying or just the regular outside working world. Walking in and seeing a nice building, helpful secretary, being offered a water and what not to some people is a big deal. It goes a long way in seeing what's to come. If a Company doesn't want to go out of its way to see me in person and shake my hand, what's the future hold dealing with them? Call me a entitled millennial, but it makes me feel wanted, and like a person and not just number 15 on the Skype call list for the day. It's cool to check out a company operations, see the things you probably might never see as a line pilot ever again.

Agree. It's easy for a recruiter to stretch the truth about a company if they are rushing you through a Skype interview. I'd rather see what I was getting into.

The interview goes both ways. One should be doing research on the companys they're interested in just as they are researching you. Hard to really get a feel for the company via a Skype interview

If you have been in the industry for more than a couple years, you should know everything that you need to know about the other companies. What more is there to know? It is all just a recruiting sales pitch anyways.

People complaining about being offered the job too fast? Unbelievable. What is going on with this industry?!?!?!

Getting to do a skype interview and have that be your AA interview and people are complaining about it? Wow. They would rather go interview to fly the same airplane for another company just to see the same sims and office type buildings they've already seen and then only have to interview at the same company again to fly a few more passengers? Whatever floats your boat.....
