Tough to say. I've been here for about 3.5 years, and life is good living in base. I was willing to take a gamble on the 2015 expiration date when I interviewed, but I think it depends on if you are willing to start all over again from the bottom after working at AWAC for just over a year.

Sorry if this was said befre I tried looking in previous post but got nothing. Anywayss with an all 200 fleet and a 2015 expiration.. Why is AWAC hiring so much? Is there a new fleet/contract coming in that hasnt been mentioned. One would expect yes otherwise why use so much money on recruiting training pilots that will only last for a year? It looks like a nice place to work as they go if it were to still live.
Cheers.

One class in April was delayed a week due to candidate availability for that specific date. They try to fill the class to 16, but that is the max for the space.
Since last fall the classes have been mostly 12-15 with a few 16 person classes. I wouldn't read too deeply into one or two classes being less. Each airline is having struggles filling classes, but it doesn't mean that there is blood in the water at AWAC...people on this site take one morsel of info and stretch it waaay too far.
You also have to compare the percentages, AWAC with around 800 pilots doesn't need to have a SKW size class every month to sustain itself. There is a reason AWAC has been around for 49 years...the current absence of a contract beyond 2015 means more about finding the right opportunity than just promising what they can't deliver.

Just about all bases are basically available out of training. FOs who don't get their first choice usually get it by the time they are done with sim..sometimes earlier.
From the time you bid for a base to the time you would bid on your first reserve schedule could be up to six to eight weeks.
With the way things are moving right now...most FOs are only spending a few months on reserve in the base of their choice.

Upgrade time.
The whole 2015 contract ending doesn't scare me much, I know that if the company meets the performance requirement in the contract, they will extend the contract until 2017. Some one here also said that Air Wisconsin has the training approved for 700/900 which gives you an idea what it could/might happen. But what about the upgrade time, I know they said 2-3 years but is that a reality? Can some one please give us an idea?
Thanks

They're probably hiring for 117 and for summer flying. Also a lot of resignations in the past year, a lot of movement vs. where it was in the past.
