All LCA trips for September were pulled to do new-hire IOE. I don't know how many LCA's we have, but multiply that by 4 and thats a lot of IOE trips.

If this keeps up, new-hires will be off reserve pretty quick.

Some of the new-hires I flew with in July were awarded lines in the big vacancy notice. Staffing date either 10-1 or 11-1, I forget. Either way, reserve for 2 or 3 months. This would depend on the base you want and as always, YMMV. Certainly seems to be a good time to get on at most any regional.

How does one go about getting a lost day off restored? The process described in the contract is archaic and cannot be correct. Is there a form or an email address online somewhere to submit choices for restoration?

There is a pay discrepancy form (day in lieu) on the employee portal. As for archaic, you'll have to be more specific.

A ''friend" of mine was almost through training, I think within four days of taking his ride, and is telling me that he quit. He is now asking me to recommend him to Envoy, and I have a feeling his departure from ZW was not the way he says it was. I just don't believe what he says and feel like he probably partied his way through ATW and the sims. I am looking for confirmation before I say that I will sign off on him. $5,000 referral bonuses aren't worth sticking your neck out for the wrong person. Thanks in advance.

It more than likely means he couldn't cut it so they asked him to resign.

Idk it's not unheard of, when I went through training, there was a guy, day before his check ride, all signed off and everything just packed up and left. Reportedly got a job with the faa. Other guy I knew just left in to middle of sims because he didn't like it anymore after he was doing well. If you think he just partied the whole way you'd know better than us to have suspicions.
But either way not like they're gonna fire you or call you in After recommending him. For all you knew he's a good guy. Just sign him up it doesn't matter
