Anyone who is currently flying a CRJ in the US is full-typed on the aircraft. So you would get an extra bonus because of that. OP's question was specific to upgrade which would not help in any additional way. So like usual, Billyshiet is wrong and providing information about an airline for which he does not work.

Thank you. This is the regional forum, so no, being a captain at another regional will not benefit you in any way going to another regional airline. For some reason mainline Billyflow still spends his time in the regional forums. Wait for the upcoming gif......

2) While all the same type rating, flying the 700/900 will in NO way prepare you for the 200. No slats, much more complicated systems, different sight picture, no FADEC, No coupled VNAV, the list goes on. The other way around? Maybe. If you master the 200, it should help you transition to the 7/900 but that's a one-way street.

Dude. Common........Really? There is a reason it's a single type rating. It's the same reason why more than one US airlines have their pilots qualified to fly all 3 variants.
The differences are pretty minor when it comes to operation, and the systems are much more similar than they are different.

In other words, lets say that a prior 121 CRJ captain and OP (CRJ FO) apply at the same 'other' regional in the same day. Both have +1000 121 time. Please show me how having that upgrade will help one over the other. Both are typed in the aircraft so both get the cash.....

This. Previous captains get no special credit anywhere I know of. The type rating gets you the bigger bonus, not a previous upgrade from another airline. Any FO flying a CRJ has a type rating.
Idiot. Having a type rating does not help you upgrade faster ANYWHERE. 121 hours and seniority get you the upgrade. Being a captain previously does not help you upgrade faster at any 121 airline. You would still wait to upgrade after a more senior qualified FO who has absolutely no PIC.
