Finally while there may, or may not be GROWTH (ie new planes), but there is serious serious MOVEMENT. I have been here 14 months and have moved up 108 spots. Im less than 200 from an upgrade right now and there have been 350 pilots hired below me. Talk about insane. This fall will be very very interesting. We have been losing between 15-20 or so this summer each month, but after the summer winds down. All I will say is its going to be fun to watch.

hahaha now that's funny...you were given a golden ticket from bloch head and you still left!! Cry me a river. If you left 9E for AWAC because of those excuses...no one on this earth has any sympathy for you sir. But if you are happy then by all means ride that pony into the sunset! I hope the sun rises with shiny new jets on the horizon for AWAC, but that is not a certainty!
I never gained Jack from Block. I was a late '08 hire at Colgan. After the integration I was pretty much in line with date of hire. I left that pathetic excuse for an Airline (9e) because it couldn't hold a candle to the life we had at Colgan. I chose AWAC for the pay and home base. Seemed like a perfect place to land while waiting for my phone to ring. So far it's been a good decision.

You bring up a good point. In recurrent, a couple months ago, we were talking about the iPad program. They were talking about how each plane was going to have 2 of them, but that the CAs was going to be hotwired directly into one of the BUSSES as to be charging automatically. The cost was estimated at $6,000 a plane. Obviously this hasn't happened yet, but if it does it seems pointless to go through with this if you know your not going to be around come 2017. Also the entire fleet getting the leather seat covers is definitely costing money as well. Again why do this for only a few years?

The most junior captain at the company right now is a 3/08 hire. The results of the last vacancy haven't been posted yet but I wouldn't expect the upgrade to drop below 6 years just yet. This place continually runs lean on staffing and then tells you calling in sick puts a strain on the operation. Future is uncertain, I wouldn't come to awac unless you live in ORF, which is only a base for awac and no other airline.

Whenever one of my captains tells me "well I need to do my logbook and then I'll get some apps out", I wanna slap them.

I can assure you, the lack of movement from the top is not from a lack of trying. If you aren't former military, a LCA, or have all the right friends, it's not easy getting that phone call. Just look at the fiasco that was the United open house enrollment and you can see the competition one is going up against to move on.
With that being said, the lack of upgrades recently doesn't have as much to do with the captains refusing to leave as some of you think. It has more to do with the fact that they don't have enough FO's to replace the ones upgrading. Supposedly the last batch of cape air guys are going to help alleviate that problem, hence the vacancy for 10 upgrades I think.

Since I didn't feel like sorting through 668 other posts for my question here it is......
Is AWAC going to get some of them fancy eagle paints or wait until they have more flying ?
