JetBlue announces service to London
JetBlue announced new service to London today.
It’s cool though, last year we announced starting service to Paine field in RJs!!!!!!!!!!!! We are good.
Can you believe the nerve of these guys flying long distances in airbii? They should have bought the 737 for these long routes.
God I wish we worked for an airline with any level of creativity or thirst for growth.

Take it easy on the guy. He fully expected to be an astronaut by now. VX was in the process of signing the flow through to Virgin Galagtic when crappy ol’, Earth based, Alaska bought them. Can’t blame the guy for being mad he’s spending his nights in Dallas instead of the Moon. In the last 3 years, VX was sure to not only become an international powerhouse, but an intergalactic one as well. Now the guy’s doomed to fly in the lower atmosphere with the rest of us schmucks.

It is always helpful if we remember that Alaska Airlines is truly a Regional Airline. According to the Song n Dance guy with the accent at Fight Path all of the west coast trans cons are bleeding cash...some badly. The only trans-cons that make a profit are from the Pac North West. More specifically from SEA as PDX in his words is flat or makes a tiny profit. He went on to say afterwards that North/South does well only because we are hauling Seattleites. That we have struggled to capture any Californians which is why we lose money flying east out of California....Sounds like a regional to me when the is virtually no O&D traffic south of Portland or east of Spokane.

Thanks friend. Exactly right. Not to mention I was pretty angry to have had to cancel my spacesuit fitting.
No.... he didn’t have that in mind. But what he DOES know.... is that, if the airline that wanted to buy him for actual growth, as an offensive as opposed to defensive move had been able to do so before being C-blocked, he’d, A. Have a better contract. B. Have scope. C. Have slope. D. Still gotten a good pay raise. E. Been able to prob continue living where he already lived. F. Had a better QOL. G. Still flown transcons. H. Still flown to Hawaii. I. Been able to fly north and south on BOTH coasts. J. Now be looking at flying to Europe.

Wrong. I would have been completely content with the way things were at virgin for the long haul... and contrary to the popular belief of many at legacy Alaska, Vx was growing and was profitable when we were purchased.
There is absolutely nothing that is the same about my day to day operation as was at virgin, which is why I despise Alaska...one hop across the pacific or transcon (and we filled them
up, unlike the bleeding money show Alaska does on transcons)has turned into 4 and 5 leg regional flying, our qol has been destroyed, and our one option to not be based on the west coast has closed down....so while I was content being a Vx pilot forever, if we were to be bought, I’m disgusted that it was by visionless Alaska. As was previously mentioned, had jet blue not been cblocked by the wonderful most west coast horror show, Vx pilots day to day would much more closely mirror what we had instead of going back 30 years in a time machine to the Seattle Seahawks hometown airline... and ps it’s comical that Alaska spends so much time, money, and effort on Russel Wilson and seahawks nonsense while the Seahawks think so little of this joke of an airline that they take their business to delta hahahaha

So you’re saying his aspirations at VX we’re to be purchased and the only way for those things to happen at VX was indeed a buy out? Then why complain about something that wasn’t happening in ones career before and isn’t now? It’s become endless complaining for the sake of complaining. AS has been going to HI for more than a decade but as soon as SWA begins HI the complaining starts that we’re going to lose all our pax and our 737 service is going to be inferior to their 737 service. Now JB announces London and the complaint is that we’re not going to Europe and we have no growth. So I see that with these guys, it wouldn’t matter if we were going into a market or not because with them, we’re damned if we do and damned if we don’t. He doesn’t like AS, I get it and that’s perfectly fine. What wears me out is the complaining as if VX was going to be growing into an international success and AS prevented that from happening. The guy is doing the exact same type of flying the day the acquisition was announced and was content to do for his career. How many big international airlines are there? If you aren’t already, you’ll be bald from pulling out your hair worrying about what every other airline does.

VX’rs are ****ed about some pie in the Sky notion about what their fate would’ve been left alone in five years, theyre A. Disappointed that what they consider a better merger partner wasn’t the buyer, but wanted to be. B. That the reaction by some is “Be greatful... we saved your a$$.
They MIGHT, have been overboard and treading water... but Royal Caribbean had already launched the life boats when what they consider Carnival Cruise lines, scooped em up in a fishing net.
The only reason I’m even explaining this is.... the sooner more L-AS pilots can understand the L-VX perspective, the sooner we can put this behind us and move forward in unity
