After hearing what was said at their JFK Q and A session, it’s hard to imagine them not furloughing if some of the more negative possibilities were to occur.

Exactly. I'm dumbfounded by people on here who can't find an optimistic nugget anywhere. When AK flounders, we'll be bought by a grown up airline.

I don't understand how furloughs are possible when we are still taking deliveries of a few more A321. Plus I'm sure some dudes (maybe a small number, I don't know) are bailing for likes of DL, UA, etc and if the possibility of a furlough is present, could be mitigated. I bet we will see a SEA bus base. I try to be optimistic in this sea of negativity. However, I wasn't at this QA meeting so I could be totally wrong!

Furloughs lol. Guys read the TPA, educate yourself, and operate in reality and stop fear mongering.

There was not any mention of furloughs, mostly continued discussion of what we’ve already heard, slowed growth, deferred deliveries, no hiring, opening another airbus base was inefficient and not cost effective, but the one that got my attention the most was that JFK might not be the last base closure we see in the future.

If anything it would be the SAN FA base closure. Cheaper to just give more flying to SKYW out of SAN and let them grow while we stagnate consolidate and close bases.
