As much as I love the airbus, i'm not opposed to an all boeing fleet. I just don't want it to be all 737s.
I feel like the court of public opinion is gonna kill off the MAX well before boeing or the feds try to do it. I'm curious to see if they can win back the hearts and minds of the panicked.
That said, I am super curious how the 797 announcement goes at the Paris Air Show this month. Especially now that airbus will announce the A321XLR. 4500/5000 mile range on one of the most fuel efficient aircraft in the industry could very well be a massive game changer.

The “hearts and minds of the Public” didn’t know what a “Max” was prior to the accidents and couldn’t tell you a NG from a max if they were right next to each other, let alone an Airbus. The general public only knows planes by seat maps. Is it a 2x2? A 3x3? A 2x3? A 3x3x3? Or a 3x4x3? < took that one to Paris.
We haven't had a series of same type crashes in a very long time. Well before the days of the social media platforms that we have now. The public is able to get information much faster than ever before. Now granted, all information may not be factual....but in classic news fashion....if it bleeds, it leads. Imagine if facebook had existed when DC-10s were having accident after accident....or hell, even when the A320 debuted at the Paris Airshow.
It's foolish to think that this is simply going to blow over once/if the software patch gets approved.

Can’t announce an order of 101 Max when the airplane is grounded. Looks bad, looks like you care not about safety and only the almighty dollar. We all know safety is the first priority at Alaska and money is a distant third behind employee happiness.
