If you want to make a (more?) educated guess you need to look at standing bids, forecast retirements and forecast growth (and hope and pray nothing else changes in the next decade). Conservative option: pick a company (and hope it picks you back) where you want to work, unless the upgrade is below 3 years, results from the past don't matter.
Well put. Thanks for the very sound info.

I would choose Jet Blue over Alaskan because they have cooler uniforms.

Prior to that, the previous 4 years saw unprecedented hiring with 200-250 a yr. (Minus 1 yr of only 150ish). So we're "trending" towards shorter upgrade times and more hiring. This is not purely based on the minimal attrition we've had. If the same factors are in play for the foreseeable future. I can't see the percentage of bypasses changing keeping upgrades around 4, maybe sub 4 yrs.
I hope your're right. I'm just worried that the training bubble for all the transitions is the only thing we're hiring for right now. I guess we'll know when they come up with a fleet plan.

If I were to guess, as soon as brown shoes are part of the uniform, then many people will make the jump to Alaskan. I know i will.

Not sure what’s worse. Brown shoes or blue shirts? At least the brown shoes are optional....

Brown shoes being an option makes it even worse... a uniform is supposed to be...well, uniform. Women can wear brown, navy blue, or black shoes, and men can wear black or brown... that with our different jacket options will make us all look quite different. Just a guess on my part.. will be funny if people wear black shoes and the brown jacket too, and just general mismatching the uniform and colors

Meh, who cares. Everyone already wears whatever they want now and it doesn't affect the day to day one bit. The company tried to make us wear EXACTLY what they wanted us to wear, down to the monogrammed shirt. We fought them on it and now can wear what we want. No passenger is going to give a rip.

Some days you can identify as brown and others black. It goes well with most west coast for sure. Hopefully Skywest will get the same options as it’s really important to have our own distinctive uniform for our GUESTS

The blue shirts are goofy. But it wasn't all that long ago that Alaska wore blue shirts too. At least you guys were able to get rid of them.

Blue used to be my favorite color.
